As the Community Enrichment Director at Vivid Bridge Studios, Jon Deckert continues to pioneer the development of branded educational courses, coordinates a capstone-based internship program with local universities and continually encourages the inclusion of educational aspects into the company’s marketing efforts. To remain true to his roots in video production, Jon has also contributed to ADDY Award-winning projects, serving as a Key Grip, Camera Operator and Sound Designer. His passion for the industry has helped foster a thoughtful and supportive work environment through his warm, supportive presence and dedication to carefully researched projects that exemplify the Vivid Bridge brand.

Jon believes that the key to creating educational content that connects with people is to approach from a place of dedication and accessibility where people feel inspired and reassured in their professional growth. His talents have been recognized as a Studer Community Institute Illuminator for leading a video production workshop called “Bootcamp Your Brand.” He has also developed and hosted a variety of lunch and learns and served as a guest lecturer at Pensacola State College. Understanding that cultivating talent begins before college, he regularly participates in the Escambia County School District Media / Design Advisory Council Meetings and critiques student portfolios from Niceville High School’s Digital Media Program.

Before joining Vivid Bridge Studios, Jon co-founded the area’s only slow-motion video booth company, worked as a freelance media professional and as a documentary videographer for the University of Central Florida’s Office of Undergraduate Research. His tenure in these various positions has given Jon unique opportunities ranging from gaining a new appreciation for local history working on a documentary featuring the Doolittle Raiders to working with robots as part of the IMAX film Robots 3D. Jon has also spent plenty of time with his toes in the sand, working on tourism commercials for Okaloosa County, Bay County and Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort. Jon’s career has also included video productions for Travel Channel, National Geographic Wild, Investigation Discovery, ABC, HGTV and PBS, as well as 5 Hour Energy, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force.

Throughout his professional endeavors, Jon and the productions he’s been a part of have been honored with dozens of awards from the American Advertising Federation (AAF). He is also an active member of several professional and aspiring professional organizations, including Studer Community Institute, Emerald Coast Film Group, Production Services Association of Northwest Florida, Panhandle Professional Photographers, Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce and the Gulf Coast Minority Chamber of Commerce.

A proud graduate of the University of Central Florida with a B.A. in Digital Media and a minor in Cinema Studies, Jon has an affinity for technology and a love of coffee. As evidenced by the depth of his experience and his concern for others, his mission to inspire, center and brighten those around him.
